Buying your first home can be a daunting and nigh on impossible task. Firstly there is the financing which can be very difficult to arrange. Although interest rates are at an all time low, many banks have clamped down on borrowing and it may well be difficult to find a mortgage.

Most of the banks demand substantial deposits so there will be a period of scrimping and saving before you can reach your goal. Dreams such as extraordinary Australia or a new car have to be put on the backburner in your quest to get on the property ladder.

Once you have enough for a deposit and have found a bank willing to send you the money for your first home you then need to find a property. Houses are not cheap and you may have to settle for something which is rather less than your dream home.

There is huge demand for property in certain areas such as London and even if you are willing to pay the asking price for a house or apartment you may be pipped to the post by someone willing to beat the asking price.

All-in-all it is a very stressful experience but it will be worth it to get on the first step of the property ladder and own your first home.
